Introducing Jeremy McConnell
Dr. Jeremy McConnell brings over 20 years of frontline experience in Family Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Sleep Medicine to FusionCare’s advisory team. As the founder of Florida Sleep Specialists and Discover Health Obesity Medicine, he’s been a pioneer in integrating sleep and obesity care long before it became standard practice.
Dr. McConnell is nationally recognized for his leadership in patient-centered care and was named the 2019 Obesity Medicine Association Clinician of the Year. He also serves on advisory boards and speaker’s bureaus for major pharmaceutical companies like Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, staying at the cutting edge of medical innovation.
Dr. McConnell’s passion for this work is deeply personal: having lived with obesity since childhood, he’s committed to destigmatizing the disease and advocating for broader access to effective treatment. At FusionCare, he’s helping design care journeys that account for the critical intersection of sleep disorders (such as OSA) and obesity, ensuring that patients receive holistic, integrated support every step of the way.
Introducing Jeff Young
With 30 years of experience in medical fitness, strength and conditioning, and exercise prescription, Jeff Young is shaping the way FusionCare integrates physical activity into obesity treatment.
Currently a doctoral candidate in Kinesiology (EdD), Jeff has worked at world-renowned institutions like Duke University, UCLA, and Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Center for Health & Healing. He also serves as an adjunct lecturer at CUNY York College and is the co-founder of the MRF Institute, which fosters collaboration between clinicians, fitness professionals, and the public.
Jeff’s approach focuses on making physical activity accessible, personalized, and sustainable. Through his leadership with the New York Moves Coalition, he’s been involved in advancing public health policies that encourage active lifestyles. His expertise will support our patients in creating lifelong, achievable plans to manage and improve fitness abilities.
